To ensure that your Fasolid Security Screen lasts as long as possible and looks great, it’s important to clean it regularly. Although the screens are constructed using highly corrosion-resistant stainless steel mesh with AkzoNobel powder coating, dust, and other impurities can accumulate on the mesh over time, leading to obstructions, corrosion, and staining of the mesh. Neglecting to clean your security screen may result in costly repairs or replacement.
Fortunately, cleaning your security screen is a simple process that can be done with basic cleaning supplies. All you need are a hose, a soft cloth, and a mild detergent. To start, use a soft cloth or sponge soaked in warm, soapy water to wipe away any loose dirt or debris. Then, rinse the screen thoroughly with a hose or a bucket of water to remove any remaining dirt particles. For more stubborn stains or hard-to-reach areas, you can use a nonabrasive cleaning agent or a soft-bristled brush. Once you’ve completed the cleaning process, rinse it down with the hose once more and allow it to air dry. Be sure to remove excess water.
Tips:
- DO NOT use any abrasive cleaners or materials that could scratch or damage the coated surface. This coating is UV fade-resistant and enhances the finished Fasolid product.
- DO NOT use solvent-based cleaners, bleach or chlorine on the stainless mesh as damage or corrosion could occur.
- DO NOT allow excess water to enter the locking mechanism.
- DO NOT forget to clean the tracks and frame periodically with a simple vacuum.
- DO NOT forget to lubricate the locks and hinges periodically with a silicone-based lubricant.
